The Lifecycle of a Public Art Project

Presented by the California Lawyers for the Arts and the Public Law Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association.
Art in Public Places Project Manager, Donald Gensler, will join M.J. Bogatin and Sarah Conley Odenkirk part of a panel discussion that addresses the complexities involved in intellectual property rights and moral rights related to public art and street art. The panel will also discuss property rights for government and privately owned and maintained property in relationship to public art, and the rights of artists in local and state government contracts. Past and recent cases, such as the 5pointz ruling, as well as the history of public art, Percent for Art ordinances for public and private development, and more will be examined as well.
